Felt slippers made of 100% wool are largely self-cleaning. If it does become necessary at some point, it is advisable to first shake out the shoes (Tip: definitely do this outside 😅) and brush out stains and dirt with a felt brush.
Afterwards, wet washing can follow.

Our WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed at a maximum of 30°C and the lowest spin speed. Use a mild wool detergent.

The natural rubber sole is not suitable for washing.

Afterwards, shape the wet shoe, stuff with paper if necessary, and let it dry in the shade at room temperature.

Felt always expands a little with wear, but it depends on the hardness of the felt. Our Classic shoe models from Kyrgyzstan are hardened with a hammer fulling process, which means they expand less. After a few years of wear, it may also be advisable to adjust the fit with one of our insoles if the felt has become flattened or stretched.

Many of our customers report that the leather sole has very comfortable slip resistance. However, if you rely on very good grip or, for example, have slippery stairs, you should choose our slippers with rubber soles. The natural rubber sole has excellent slip resistance, but can become slippery on very wet surfaces. On wet surfaces, however, the leather sole is particularly non-slip.

• 100% wool felt is four times more expensive than mixed felt with synthetic content, as it is more complex to produce.
• many of our slippers are hand-felted in one piece. For one pair, the felt makers need approx. 4-6 hours of manual work until it is finished. It is therefore seamless and absolutely unique.
• Fair Trade: We work directly with the felt makers and pay well above average. The products and especially the quality we now produce are absolutely worth it.
• particularly high-quality wool. After many tests, we have discovered the optimal wool, which is 26 microns thick. For comparison: very fine merino wool is 16 microns, coarser wool is 32 microns. At 26 microns, the wool is pleasantly soft and at the same time so robust that the shoe lasts for several years and does not get dirty quickly.

In addition, our shoes are durable and the wearing comfort is incomparably cozy. If you consider how often you wear slippers, they are actually a real bargain and worth every penny.
