Our Classic fits true to size. If you are between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one.
Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very susceptible to dirt. At some point, however, it's time for a cleaning. Here's how:
- Preparation: First, shake out the slippers and brush off the dirt, for example with our felt brush.
- Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
- Washing machine: Use the gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive detergents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
- Care: Additionally, after washing, the shoes can be treated with our Lanolin wool treatment to restore the natural properties of the wool (dirt and water repellent).
- Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature.
You can find more information in our care tips.
The leather sole is very durable and can be used outdoors (except in wet conditions). However, it quickly discolors darkly when used outdoors, so we recommend using the shoes indoors if possible. Sharp stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.
As an online retailer, we focus on sustainability to enable guilt-free shopping. Our packaging is designed to be as environmentally friendly and thoughtful as possible.

High-quality handmade felt slippers
Our Classic felt slippers are true masterpieces of craftsmanship, embodying timeless elegance and undoubtedly among the highest quality slippers in our range. They are made from thick and robust felt, complemented by a removable felt insole, which not only provides warmth but also exceptional foot comfort.

Who is the high Classic suitable for?
The Classic is the optimal choice for those who value high-quality and durable slippers.
Thanks to its removable insole, these slippers can be easily upgraded with an inexpensive new insole after extensive wear and tear. Furthermore, the Classic is also the right choice for individuals who use their own orthopedic insoles, provided they fit in shape and size.
Compared to the "normal" Classic, this fit warms up to the ankles. It is a great companion all year round, but excels particularly on cold days. Despite its high-cut design, it is easy to slip into.
And not to forget, the Classic is seamlessly hand-felted, making it the ideal choice for people with particularly sensitive feet.

How is the Classic made?
The traditional manufacturing technique of a pair of Classic slippers requires a multitude of elaborate steps. Particularly time-consuming is the hand-felted blank, which gives each pair its unique coziness. For additional robustness, the felt in this model is processed with a hammer fulling machine in several passes.
If you would like to learn more about the detailed manufacturing steps, you can find further information under this link. There you can also see in a video with what dedication our Classic slippers are made by the talented craftsmen in Kyrgyzstan. The production of the products is extremely gentle, as no toxic chemicals are used and no unnecessary waste is generated during production. All wool scraps are recycled or used as insulation material.

Sustainable Materials
We rely on sustainable and high-quality raw materials, including organic virgin wool from local shepherds, vegetable-tanned leather, and natural latex for sole bonding.
By the way, the special thing about our Kyrgyz wool is that it does not come from Merino sheep, but from Kyrgyz fat-tailed sheep. These animals live outdoors all year round and are exposed to the extreme climatic conditions of the harsh wilderness. Therefore, their curly wool is considered particularly warm and durable. The wool of these sheep is fundamentally mulesing-free.
Feel free to read our blog post about wool. Here you will find much more detailed information about this great and versatile material.

Our Manufactory
The WoolFit Classic is produced in Kyrgyzstan in a woman-led manufactory. The company is a collective of various artisans.
We are incredibly happy to collaborate with this manufactory, as it is considered a top employer in the country and the Kyrgyz people are very proud of this company.
We trade directly & without intermediaries, so that 100% of the money reaches those who actually make the slippers.
