Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very prone to dirt. Eventually, of course, it's time for a cleaning. Here's how:
- Preparation: First, tap out the slippers and brush off the dirt, for example with our felt brush.
- Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
- Washing machine: Use the delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive detergents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
- Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them dry at warm room temperature.

The leather sole is very durable and can be used outdoors (except when wet). However, it will quickly discolor to a darker shade, so we recommend using the shoes indoors if possible. Sharp stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.

Softly bedded instead of hard-trodden.
Many cork footbeds are far too hard, like a birch branch. It feels like your foot has to adapt to the footbed, and not the other way around.
Our slippers take a more comfortable approach: The pleasantly soft cork-latex footbed fits perfectly from the very first second, provides cushioning with every step, and adapts individually to your foot.
This creates a walking sensation that feels familiar and comfortable from the moment you slip them on – without weeks of breaking them in.
Nothing pinches, nothing acts up.
We evaluated countless foot data and tested extensively for the shoe last and the placement of the leather straps. The angle of the leather is chosen so that the shoe fits perfectly on the foot and nothing chafes when walking.
As a result, with these slippers, you have significantly less of a problem with them cutting in during long wear than with other brands.
Another reason is the single-layer leather. Other manufacturers often glue two layers together, which can make the leather hard and edgy.
That's why we forgo glitter and crocodile looks, because if the comfort isn't right, you won't wear them.
That's going to be an interesting situation
For our Tuffeln, we use high-quality Italian cowhide leather that is robust yet pleasantly soft against the skin.
The tannery is FQC-audited, a member of the Leather Working Group, and has been awarded LWG Gold status. Furthermore, the leather is certified free of Chromium VI.
It gives the sandal its long-lasting quality, its natural character, and that wonderful feeling that good leather shoes provide: stable, valuable, and yet supple.
Our Tuffeln are made for many summers and only become more comfortable with time.
Made in the EU - with materials from the EU
Our slippers are made in a family-run business in Bulgaria that is led by women. The leather comes from Italy and is also tanned there.
Our specially developed soft cork latex footbeds come from Spain – the home of the cork oak and globally renowned for producing high-quality cork footbeds. They combine natural materials with high comfort and pleasant cushioning with every step.
